Take a Historic Walk at the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse
Cape Bojeador Lighthouse is the Philippine’s highest elevated lighthouse that has been kept in its original structure back to the Spanish-Colonial period. It is still active until today, and is strategically located at the Vigia de Nagpartian Hill overlooking the Cape Bojeador, where ships sail by.
It is commonly called Burgos Lighthouse by the locals, and used to work with a Fresnel lens lamp until 1990. That got damaged by an intense earthquake, and has since been replaced by a solar-powered electric unit.
Now, aside from being a functional lighthouse, it is also a national historical landmark declared on 2004. It is also a national cultural resource by the National Museum on 2005. For people visiting the north, going to Cape Bojeador Lighthouse is a staple.
